Julia Foecker

Dr. Julia Föcker will join the Danish School of Education at Aarhus University, on October 1st, as a Professor of Special Needs Education within the field of Educational Psychology. Her current research focuses on the development and impact of new technologies on sensory and cognitive functions in children with multiple impairments. Building on previous work in multisensory approaches, neural plasticity, and theories of attention, her projects explore how innovative tools can support learning, wellbeing and development.

Her interdisciplinary research integrates perspectives from education, neuropsychology, computer science, and engineering to both design, implement and evaluate new methods and tools. Methodologically, she combines quantitative and qualitative research methods with neural recordings such as electroencephalogram (EEG).

Before her current appointment, Dr. Julia Föcker was a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at the University of Lincoln (UK). Prior to Lincoln she held research positions at Ludwig Maximilian University Munich (Germany), University of Geneva (Switzerland), University of Rochester (USA) and University of Hamburg (Germany).
