Associate Professor, MA Ragna Lorentzen bequeathed her fortune in 1995 to a foundation established as the Ragna Lorentzen Scholarship Foundation. The foundation is registered at DPU - Danish School of Education, Aarhus University.
The study grant can be awarded to Icelandic students at DPU. If there are not enough Icelandic applicants, Greenlandic, Faroese, and other foreign students at DPU will be considered for the study grant.
It is a condition for the grant that the recipient is genuinely in need. The study grant can be applied for a maximum of 1 year at a time, and up to DKK 30,000 can be applied for each time. The scholarship is taxable.
Grants are primarily awarded to students enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree programme (BSc, MA or MSc) at the Danish School of Education, including exchange students. However, PhD students, including visiting PhD students, at the School are also invited to apply for financial support.

The foundation's board decides on the allocation and size of study grant portions.
