Apply for financial support for your studies at the Danish School of Education, Aarhus University

Associate Professor, MA Ragna Lorentzen bequeathed her fortune in 1995 to a foundation established as the Ragna Lorentzen Scholarship Foundation. The foundation is registered at DPU - Danish School of Education, Aarhus University.

The study grant can be awarded to Icelandic students at DPU. If there are not enough Icelandic applicants, Greenlandic, Faroese, and other foreign students at DPU will be considered for the study grant.

It is a condition for the grant that the recipient is genuinely in need. The study grant can be applied for a maximum of 1 year at a time, and up to DKK 30,000 can be applied for each time. The scholarship is taxable.

Grants are primarily awarded to students enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree programme (BSc, MA or MSc) at the Danish School of Education, including exchange students. However, PhD students, including visiting PhD students, at the School are also invited to apply for financial support.

Applicants must complete the following documents - please save as PDF before sending:

  • Application form (Word)
  • Budget form (Excel)
  • A copy of your most recent tax assessment/tax return (2023)
  • A copy of your most recent preliminary income assessment (Forskudsopgørelse - 2024)
  • Other documentation of income, assets, and debts if the applicant does not have an Income statement/Preliminary income assessment from

The grant can be applied for by

  • students who are enrolled in a regular bachelor's or master's program at DPU or who are applying for admission with a start date of September 2024.
  • Exchange/study abroad/Ph.D. students in the fall semester of 2024 or the spring semester of 2025. Allocation assumes that the student is enrolled and active Ph.D. students or guest Ph.D. students.

The scholarship portion can be divided into two if the board decides.

The foundation's board decides on the allocation and size of study grant portions.

Applicants can expect a response no later than June 30, 2023.
