Andrew Gerard Gibson

Postdoc i Afdeling for Pædagogisk Filosofi og Generel Pædagogik. Per 1/9/21. Campus Aarhus

I'm Andrew Gibson, from Ireland, and I've been working in Trinity College Dublin for the past few years. I'm very happy to be moving to Aarhus to join Søren S.E. Bengtsen’s project, ‘Research for impact: Integrating research and societal impact in the humanities PhD’.

I have been working in higher education research as a research assistant since 2012, and one project I was a part of in this period was on humanities research impact, so I'm happy to return to this area soon.

My PhD research was a sociological study of the experiences of Irish military officers at (civilian) university, which was a fascinating project, and I aim to develop it as a monograph at some point in the future

At the moment though, I have my hands full with a book I am editing on the "The Affective Researcher", and co-authoring a book with Ellen Hazelkorn on the global governance of international higher education and science.

In the last few months I've had the happy experience of working with various people from DPU and Aarhus, and I'm looking forward to moving to Denmark and getting to know Aarhus better, and especially being a part of the research community there!
